Viva Algeria won the AFKG MENA Championship following a 3-0 victory over Kuwaiti side RvN (16-12 on de_train and de_dust2, and 16-4 on de_cobblestone). Hosted by community platform AFKG and sponsored by the North Africa Esport Organization, the tournament featured 32 of the strongest teams in Middle East and North Africa, who battled it out for their share of a $15,000 prize pool - a figure which made it the biggest competition to date in these two regions. The tournament began with two group stages, with the top eight sides advancing to the single-elimination, best-of-three playoffs.
The grand final, which was played in a best-of-five format, pitted Viva Algeria against RvN, a mixture of Kuwaiti and Saudi Arabian players. With Kyle "NOtA" Saadi leading the charge, the Algerian side proved far too hot to handle and claimed a 3-0 win to secure the top prize of $7,000. AFKG MENA ChampionshipBest of 5
